Utilities
The Town of Havana is a full-service utility provider. We offer electric, natural gas, water, sewer and garbage collection. To connect services, please come to the Cecil G. Trippe Municipal Building, 711 North Main Street, Havana, Florida. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Paperless Billing & Payment Auto Draft
For your convenience, we now offer paperless billing and payment auto-draft through the Town. Please complete the applications below and return to the Town Clerk if you would like to receive your utility bill sent via email and/or your payment drafted on the 10th of each month.
New Connection Fees
All new accounts will be charged a non-refundable connection fee of $25 per service. A tility deposit of $40 for Water only, and a utility deposit of $400 for Water plus one or more additional utilities. The commercial deposit is two (2) times the average utility bill.
Payment Extensions
We understand that our customers may experience financial hardships from time to time, and offer payment extensions to help. Please review our Payment Extension Guidelines below to see if you qualify. An application for extension may be completed at Town Hall. Note that all requests must be made in writing by the account holder, as verified by legal photo identification, and no extensions will be granted on the day of utility cutoffs, which is the 16th or next business day following the 16th day of each month.
Due Dates & Late Fees
Utility bills are due the 10th of each month. A late fee of $10 will be assessed at 8am on the 11th or next business day following the 10th day of each month. A disconnect/reconnect fee of $20 will be assessed at 8am on the 16th (cut off day) or the next business day following the 16th day of each month for any accounts not paid in full without an approved extension. Accounts not paid in full will be subject to disconnection of services. An additional reconnect fee of $25 will be assessed and added to the $10 late fee and $20 disconnect fee, for any accounts paid at the Havana Police Department for after hours reconnection.
After Hours Reconnection Times
After hours reconnects are ONLY available at the following times:
• Monday thru Friday only between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM or dusk, whichever comes first. Any reconnection payments, including all late fees and the $25 after-hours fee, made on Friday after the reconnect window noted above, will result in utilities being connected on Saturday.
• On Saturday and Sunday during the approximately two-hour period that the stand-by crew is in Town. This time will vary, but is typically early to mid-morning. Payments made on Saturday after the stand-by crew have left town will be connected on Sunday.
• No payments will be accepted on Sunday after the crew has left Town. Payments must be made during normal business hours at the Municipal Building located at 711 N. Main Street Havana Florida.
Reconnection Fee
• There is an additional after-hours reconnection fee of $25
• Payments must be made in cash and customers must pay the exact amount, including the utility bill, all late fees and the $25 reconnect fee. No change will be given by HPD staff. See below to download a copy of Havana's reconnect policy.
